Brief Description

This competency-based course is a part of a sequence designed for accounting. It provides students with technical instruction and practical experience in tax preparation. It covers orientation, workplace safety, resource management, business math, employability skills, and entrepreneurship. Emphasis is placed on the principles of taxation, the purposes of the federal, state, and local tax laws, the tax characteristics of various business entities, and the principles and procedures related to income tax preparation and filing, including tax calculations and deductions.
